Why Compass exists

Build the story before application season.

Compass was created around a simple idea: students should not have to reach senior year and suddenly invent a story about who they are.

The better path starts earlier. Students explore genuine interests, try meaningful projects, save the work and moments that matter, and gradually discover the strengths, subjects, and directions that fit them.

By the time college applications arrive, the goal is not to manufacture impressive experiences. It is to help students understand and communicate the real experiences they have already built.

Editorial standards

Compass should be useful enough to verify.

Public major and project guides are built around authoritative reference systems, original student-facing analysis, practical projects, clear uncertainty, and a corrections process. AI tools may assist research organization and drafting, but Davisville Labs is responsible for final editorial decisions.
